Drag and drop problem with Microsoft Vista

If Vista tells you that DDFileCatcher must be run as Administrator, you will probably find that files dragged and dropped onto it from Windows Explorer will not be accepted. You will see a circular "No Entry" sign. This is because Windows Explorer is running at a lower privilege level - User level - than DDFileCatcher. Vista will not allow drag and drop from a lower privilege level to a higher one. To allow DDFileCatcher to accept files dragged onto it, you need to lower its privilege level to User as described below:

  1. Right click the DDFileCatcher desktop icon or start menu item.
  2. Select "Properties".
  3. On the properties window, open the "Compatibility" tab.
  4. Uncheck the "Run this program as administrator" box.
  5. Close the window with the "OK" button.
  6. Relaunch DDFileCatcher.

If lowering the privilege level does not cure the problem, please describe the problem to us, using our support form, and we will find a solution for you as quickly as possible.

uncheck administrator box on compatiblity tab
